Butterfly Magic

We went to the country today, ahh my favorite day of the week, I just love it,
I am a country girl what can I say.
On top of the simple joy of being surrounded by nature we were also blessed with yet another abundant amount of butterflies. They were everywhere, and especially seemed to love the flowering Joe Pie weed.
It was truly magical and the children, Kaleena especially was mesmerized.
She would catch them gently in her hands and promptly release them again, as they flew off they would leave some of their magic dust on her hands, and she believed that this dust would make her lighter and that she could then run faster and jump higher. The magic she put into her experience was absolutely beautiful, a magic that only communion with nature can bring, for these moments I am beyond grateful.
Keenan, a devoted brother, was happy to simply encourage her magic.
After a while she got concerned that perhaps she was taking too much of the butterflies' magic powder and we let the beautiful creatures in peace to enjoy the sweet flower nectar.

Such Beauty!!!
~with love and gratitude~

  2. We raise Swallowtail caterpillars when we find them on our parsley plants. Right now we have one chrysalis in our vivarium. No matter how many times we do it, we still watch them hatch and are filled with wonder. (:

    Beautiful photos!
