Words to ponder

“It must happen to us all…
We pack up what we’ve learned so far and leave the familiar behind.
 No fun, that shearing separation,
but somewhere within,
we must dimly know that saying goodbye to safety
 brings the only security we’ll ever know.”

Words to ponder

Keep me away from the wisdom
which does not cry,
the philosophy which does not laugh
and the greatness
which does not bow before children.

Words to ponder

The Great Way is not difficult
for those who have no preferences.
When love and hate are both absent
everything becomes clear and undisguised.
Make the smallest distinction, however
and heaven and earth are set infinitely apart.
If you wish to see the truth
then hold no opinions for or against anything.
To set up what you like against what you dislike
is the disease of the mind.
When deep meaning of things is not understood
the minds essential peace is disturbed to no avail.

The Way is perfect like vast space
where nothing is lacking and nothing is in excess.
Indeed, it is due to our choosing to accept or reject
that we do not see the true nature of things.
Live neither in the entanglements of outer things,
nor in inner feelings of emptiness.
Be serene in the oneness of things
and such erroneous views will disappear by themselves.
When you try to stop activity to achieve passivity
your very effort fills you with activity.
As long as you remain in one extreme or the other
you will never know Oneness.

Words to ponder

"To live content with small means.
To seek elegance rather than luxury.
And refinement rather than fashion;
To be worthy not respectable
To study hard, think quietly,
Talk gently, act frankly;
To listen to stars and birds,
To babes and sages with an open heart;
To bear all cheerfully, do all bravely,
Await occasions, hurry never;
To let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious,
Grow up through the common,
This is to be my symphony.

Words to ponder

Do not fear the form in which it comes,
it comes in the form it needs to come in
for us to be challenged... for us to grow,
each and every one of us according to our kind,
according to our belief... according to our vibration.
...
Embrace the unknown... embrace the change,
within it you will find the rest of yourself.

Words to ponder

An old Cherokee told his grandson,
"My son, there's a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil.
It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies, & ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope,
humility, kindness, empathy, & truth."
The boy thought about it & asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee quietly replied,
"The one you feed."
