A tribute to the simple act of drying the families washing
using the sun and fresh air.
I have been following Gardenmama's wash wednesday for a few weeks now, and absolutely adore
to observe how poetic and beautiful people from all over interpret this simple act.
I was finally inspired to string a line between the trees in the garden although it is mostly shady, and does not get a whole lot of wind either. And amazingly I enjoy the same result, fresh smelling, dried by mother nature dry clothes. Loving it!
And may I share a little quirk of mine, I do so enjoy to see the clothes on the line, that I actually enjoy to color coordinate it as I am hanging, I view it as a creative expression, and in this way, since I rarely get to a canvas these days, I can play with color on my clothesline.
Do look in on Gardenmama to enjoy the many beautiful clotheslines, you may also enjoy a lovely read about the joy of washing over on Goodthingswatkins.
Happy washing!!!
I love the idea of thinking about the colour combinations on the washing line. A whole new dimension to hanging up the wet clothes.
ReplyDeleteI've just been trying out your suggestion of elderflower tea and I love it. Thank you so much for mentioning it. No chance of elderberries this year!
Isn't a clothesline wonderful! I just love this series from Garden Mama.
ReplyDeleteSo great that you made one.
Warm wishes, Tonya
